YOUTH QUEER MEDIA PROGRAM (YQMP)
Following the wildly successful 2011 Youth Anti-Homophobia PSA Program, the Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival is partnering once again with EMMEDIA Gallery & Production Society for a media art creation program for youth. Completed films will be considered for screening in the 2012 Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival, May 24 - June 2, 2012.
The YQMP for 2012 is currently underway, with participants well on their way to creating short film, animation or digital video pieces that deal with GLBTQA themes, like bullying, homophobia, etc.
Fairy Tales and EMMEDIA provide training and equipment to youth and assist them with submitting their pieces to festivals and for television and internet broadcast. All mentors leading the training will be working professionals within the media arts community.
This FREE program is no longer accepting applications for 2012, but check back after August 2012, for 2013 deadlines.
Questions can be sent to: Melody Jacobson by e-mail at outreach(at)fairytalesfilmfest.com.
